On this course, you will explore certain philosophical questions concerning the nature and activities of the human mind, and its place in the natural and social worlds. The aim is to introduce you to some central themes in contemporary philosophy of mind, involving related areas in aesthetics, epistemology, metaphysics, and philosophy of language. You will look at the development of conceptions of the mind and consider four topics in detail: emotion, thought and language, imagination and creativity, and consciousness.
