General Reference
The
Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy
A searchable database of articles on philosophy. It is a growing resource,
where the editor aims to replace adaptations of material written for other
purposes with articles written especially for the IEP by professional
philosophers. Searching the database is aided by a clickable timeline
of ancient philosophy, from the pre-socratics to the twentieth century.
The site also maintains a clickable list of keywords.
Guide to Philosophy
on the Internet
A large site offering a list of links to online philosophy resources.
Browsable categories include general guides (separated into different
languages), philosophers and philosophies, philosophical topics, associations,
journals and electronic texts. Hosted by the Department of Philosophy,
Earlham College, Indiana.
Intute
A repository of links in Philosophy, which have all been selected and recommended by academic sources.
Philosophy
in Cyberspace
A searchable site providing links to online philosophy resources. Divided
into 5 sections, it lists links to disciplines, literature, departments,
newsgroups, conferences etc. This useful resource is produced by a student
at Monash University, Australia, and there is no evidence of any quality
control in the selection of sites.

Classics Collections
(University of Florida)
A guide to online resources for the study of classics, provided by the
George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida. Includes subject
guides/ indices, databases, bibliographies, directories/ associations,
electronic texts, journals and instructional resources. The site also
includes the Argos Limited Area Search of the Ancient Medieval Internet.
Greek and Roman philosophy is one of the areas of strength within the
collection. The site includes a search facility.
The Last Days of
Socrates
A teaching tool designed to help undergraduate philosophy students to
read the Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, and the death scene from the Phaedo,
in order to help them prepare for philosophical discussion of these texts
in the classroom. The site links to illustrated translations of these
works, as well as a bibliography and links to related texts.
